Not All Sugar Created Equal

Okay, bad pun. But in every class I teach, there's always a kid who raises his/her hand and says, "Sugar is bad for you, right? So tell my mom that's why I don't have to eat fruit." Smart aleck. Kind of. It has been beaten into us that sugar = bad, but I work hard to un-ring that bell regularly. Processed sugar is bad. Added sugar is bad. Fake, table, unnecessary sugar is bad.
