Pitfalls of Precociousness, part 2

A couple of weeks ago I posted the results of a study showing that fast track behavior in middle school often leads nowhere good. This NY Times follow up piece dives deeper and offers an explanation for the conclusion. Take home message hasn't changed, though: slow and steady usually wins the race.
